Thank you for caring!

We’re happy that you want to find out more about why we care.

“Care” is a key element in our product development and has been part of LaMunt’s DNA from the very first day. It’s not a matter of long-term goals; it is about mindful decisions we take every day.

Here we go with 19 reasons why we care! You can follow the links below for even more background information and stories from ourselves, from our community, from our Group.

We care about Sustainable Materials.

#1 Recycled Materials ♻️

Recycling is an essential component of sustainable production. The use of post-industrial “waste”, such as recycled cashmere or polyester, helps to save resources and to lower our impact on the planet. By reusing materials that have already been produced, we minimize the need for new resources, reducing our environmental footprint.

#2 Natural Materials

Natural materials such as Tencel™ and Modal Cotton are renewable and biodegradable, making them an excellent choice for sustainable production. These cellulose-based fibers come from renewable sources, and their production requires less energy and water than traditional cotton.

#3 RWS (Responsible Wool Standard)

The RWS is a voluntary standard that addresses the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on. It ensures that sheep are treated humanely and that the land is managed sustainably. By using RWS-certified wool, we can ensure that the animals are treated with respect, and the environment is protected.

#4 PFC-Free DWR

All products with durable water repellent finishing are made 100% PFC-free. PFCs are a group of chemicals that have been found to be harmful to the environment and human health. By avoiding these chemicals, we reduce our impact on the planet and protect our customers' health.

#5 RSL – Restricted Substances List

The RSL bans or limits harmful substances and is updated regularly as part of our chemical policy. Every supplier has to agree to it, as it is a condition for purchase. This ensures that our products do not contain any harmful substances and are safe for our customers to use.

#6 Quality Management Team

Regular visits to production sites, inspections, and collaborations with suppliers ensure that our products meet our high standards for quality and sustainability. By working closely with our suppliers, we can ensure that our products are produced sustainably and ethically.

#7 Chemical Compliance Checks

All our products have been tested for their chemical compliance. Our chemical policy is mandatory for suppliers, ensuring that our products do not contain any harmful chemicals.

#8 bluesign® Certified Fabric

We use bluesign® certified fabric, ensuring that our suppliers comply with our chemical policy. This certification guarantees that the fabric has been produced sustainably and safely. We care about Customer Services & Information.

#9 Repair Service ✂️

We offer a repair service to extend the lifetime of our products. This ensures that our customers can enjoy our products for a longer time and helps to reduce waste.

#10 Care Instructions

We provide care instructions for our products, helping our customers to take care of their products and extend their lifetime.

#11 Reporting & Transparency

We offer insightful product information through our sustainability criteria overview on our website. We annually report our achievements transparently in our sustainability report, together with our sister brands from the Oberalp Group. This ensures that our customers can make informed choices about our products.

#12 Packaging

We deliver plastic-free in FSC certified, recycled parcels to customers. This helps to reduce waste and protect the environment.

#13 Design to Last

We aim to extend the lifetime of a product already in its design phase. By designing our products to last, we reduce the need for new products and resources, reducing our environmental impact.

#14 Design to Perform

We design our products for all types of women's bodies, including possibilities to adapt or shorten individually, called "Smart Fit Solutions." This ensures that our products are inclusive and accessible to all women.

In addition we work with the LaMunt Crew, a group of women who love being active in the mountains, to make sure our designs fulfill their requirements. Our LaMunt Crew tests our products already one year ahead and gives us feedback so we can make last improvements before production.

#15 CO2 Strategy

Reducing our environmental impact is a top priority for us. We are committed to using sustainable materials, but we also work to reduce our carbon footprint through product design and targeted material choices. Our CO2 strategy is focused on reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in our production process, transportation, and energy use.

#16 COC – Code of Conduct

We have a strict COC – Code of Conduct – that all our suppliers must adhere to as a condition for purchase. It outlines our expectations for social and environmental compliance, as well as labor practices and ethical standards. We hold ourselves and our suppliers accountable to these standards, and we regularly audit our supply chain to ensure compliance.

#17 Audited Factories

We believe that everyone involved in the production of our products deserves to be treated fairly and with respect. That's why we work with factories that have been audited by independent organizations like the Fair Wear Foundation. These audits help us ensure that our suppliers are meeting our high standards for social compliance and labor practices.

#18 HIGG committed factory

All our factories are committed to the HIGG Index, an industry-wide tool that measures the environmental and social impact of textile manufacturing. By working with HIGG committed factories, we can be sure that our suppliers are transparent about their policies, processes, and emissions, and are continuously working to improve their sustainability practices.

#19 Philanthropy/Charity

We believe that giving back to our community is an essential part of our business. We have partnered with Caritas to support Bolivian girls in their education. Through this partnership, we help provide educational opportunities for young girls, which can improve their prospects and create positive change in their communities.
