The Dolomite EP, a musical tribute from women to the mountains, created with the support of LaMunt, is out now.
Dolomite was born out of reflection on the mutability of the landscape: the Dolomites were once the bottom of the ocean, and now constitute some of the highest mountains in Europe.
The profound message the EP conveys is that what seems static to human beings is instead constantly changing. An interweaving of the sounds of nature, women and cultures - Dolomite is Italian, English, German and Ladin, mirroring the richness and cultural variety of the mountains of which LaMunt is also a child.
"Spending moments at high altitude, immersed in nature and turning off my cell phone, is what has allowed me to face difficult moments and reconnect with the world. You can feel small, but part of the greatness of nature." This is how Maddalena Ghezzi talks about her mountains, an endless source of inspiration for her.
Ruth Goller, born and raised on the Alpe di Siusi, is also deeply connected to her origins and sensitive to the climate changes that threaten them. "Singing in Ladin for the first time felt close to my heart, because it is the culture I come from," Ruth Goller comments about Dolomite.
Dolomite was made possible thanks to the support of LaMunt.
